A commentary from R. Poynder about the Caritas in Veritate, with an interesting final comment about the copyright of Vatican works:

“unless a copyright owner is prepared to be as ruthless as the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) in suing people there appears to be little that can be done to prevent copyright infringement in a digital environment. And the Vatican would surely not want to go down that road.”

The concept that Catholic works should not be released under conditions as restrictive as the classical “All Rights Reserved” copyright is present even in an article published in August 2009 in the blog of the New Liturgical Movement.
